Comic Book Movies: Fantastic Four

Today I rented and saw "Fantastic Four".

NICE...

One of the best comic book-based movies I've seen.

I really enjoyed the scenes where Johnny mocks the Thing (just like in the book!) , he plays the playboy (on the motorcycle kissing the girl!) or just shows off himself in front of cameras and people.

I also liked the effects very much, specially the Torch and the Invisible Woman's force field.

About her, I have to admit that I had second thoughts when I learned that Jessica Alba was to play Sue Storm. But she won me in the movie. Besides being a beautiful Sue, she did a very good job as Ms.Richards. Actually, I think the whole cast was very well chosen.

Good story too. Except for Dr.Doom, pretty close to the comic book version.

The "broche de oro" to me was Stan Lee's cameo, which are always special. And the last scene: The fire 4 sign in the sky: Fantastic.

Definetelly wish to see round two.

I agree Julio. The critics canned it but I thought it was a fun ride. I wouldn't put it in the same league as the X-Men and Spiderman franchises, but it's equally as good as Daredevil. Chickliss as Ben Grimm/The Thing was great casting. The casting I liked the least was Ion Griffud as Reed Richards. Reed is a lot less weak than he was portayed here with all of his pussy-footing around. The original character was a lot more decisive (and also more intellectual). Overall though an enjoyable comic book movie. I'm looking forward to X3, Superman Returns and Ghost Rider.
